The 3" Magnums

Howdy everyone!I know how you all try to live vicariously through me. So, I figured that I'd let you into my Wednesday nights for your enjoyment. The best part is that you don't even have to deal with the hangovers!!The Dart Team is named "The 3" Magnums" (don't read anything into that) We play every Wednesday at various bars around the Bemidji area. We play in the Funtime NW Cricket League and you can catch our scores and such at the following website:www.northernamusement.com So far we have been doing pretty well. Let me tell you about our team. The 3" Magnums are comprised of 2 dart league veterans and 2 rookies. First our Captain and team leader, Aaron "G-Unit" Guthrie a solid veteran of the dart wars, Aaron has shifted his game to the Bemidji area because he is now married and his lovely wife, Katie, can keep tabs on him easier as he will be"Playing" closer to home. While his dart play has not been up to his standards as of yet, they are improving and Aaron does lead or team in a very important stat, Most Times Driven Home From The Bar on League Nights. Or, MTDHFBLN average. Aaron is .500 after 4 matches!!! AWESOME! Our other Veteran is Jason Rylander, Jason is known for his Spiffy Budweiser Darts, his hippie music leanings and his groupie popularity! Jason has been a bartender in just about every bar in Bemidji, and now works Part time at Gander Mountain and Full Time at Big North Beverage Distribution. Where he is the import beer and sport drink rep. If your at an establishment and realize that the Grateful Dead or Alice's Restaurant has been playing for at least 2 hours straight, then you know that Jason is there. Next on our tour, is our Bullseye leader, and fellow league rookie, Kenny "The Mutt" Mutzke. Kenny hails from LeSuer Minnesota and he is a stellar student atBSU, except on Thursdays when he is dealing with trying to find his or the "G-Units" car, or paying city of Bemidji parking tickets. As well as a killer hangover. Kenny is a bar patrons dart league friend, as his out going personality and his BSU student status, allows the 3" Magnums, to have the BEST Dart Groupie following in the whole league. SWEET!This leaves yours truly, Mike "Spike" Miller, as with Kenny "The Mutt" this is Spikes first foray into league darts and with some skill and lots of luck, along with vast amounts of Captain Morgan and Mich. Golden Light, Spike has entered this week as the 3"Magnums top winner and scorer. It has been a verylong time since Spike has lead any league in Scoring;) Amen brother! Spikes trademark dart entrance is getting to be well known as the echos of Buck Cherry's"Crazy Bitch" announce his arrival onto the scene! We also have a true Ladies man as our super sub, Aaron Schmitz, we really do not know his dart abilities as he is yet to be pressed into service, but his value at Groupie Attracting is legendary! This Wednesday even though the schedule says that it is a bye week. The 3" Mags will be traveling to The Other Place Bar in Turtle Creek, Matches start at 8pm. If you are in the area, stop in and support your favorite dart men. Join the fun, Join the Party and if your female and like your men slightly strange, join our Groupie Throng! **NOTE To Mrs. Guthrie thatThrong, NOT Thong!

Hello everyone! BIG NEWS!! If you recognize the man in the Picture , he needs no introduction. If You do not recognize him he is nonother that my oldest friend in the whole world Allen Hoppe of my home town, Gaylord Minnesota. Now Al and I have been pals for longer than many of you have been alive and we have hunted and fished this country from one side to the other. We have seen the bottom of many a bottle also. (of course this was in our younger wilder days) We have had great times together and there will many more to come, but let me get to the point of this post. AL HOPPE IS ENGAGED!!!!! TO BE MARRIED!!!!! WTF!! It is true. I heard it from the man himself. He got down one one knee and asked Kathy Hahn, whom he graduated high school with to marry him and she said YES!
twenty years ago Al, Smitty and I made a pact or a wager that the first one to get married between us the other two had to pitch in and ??????? We obviously should have written it down and given it to a lawyer as it was so long ago that we have forgotten what the pay off was!!! Its been so long that frankly we just figured that we would just never have to pay for whatever it was we bet. If anyone can remember what it was because it was a big deal back then please let us know. Otherwise we will be getting together to negotiate a settlement soon. (Although no date has been set as of yet so we still have some time Smitty)
Anyways,
Congratulations, Al and Kathy!!!

Here are some more pictures of the North Dakota Waterfowl Opener. Enjoy!

Hey Keds, you are the apple of my eye and I miss you tons! I hope all is well and the kids are not driving you up a wall. I played in my first League match tonight. I did ok and we won 8 games to 4 so our team is undefeated and we look pretty good at times. I have never played competitive darts so I guess I'm old now. It's official. 6 weeks and 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday by the way!! I hope you and your family have something HUGE planned! Just wish that I could be there.
On a sad note, please everyone, keep my Grandmother Bea in your prayers as she is in tough shape and currently in the hospital in Buffalo, MN. My mom is taking it hard as will I someday. My Grandmother is a wonderful woman, and a true blue friend. I Do not want her to suffer but in my own selfish way want her to stay with me forever. There has been so many memories and all of them good. I love her with all my breaking heart and wish I could do more, age sucks, and that is no lie.
